Next, add the desired video to the software timeline by simply drag and drop. To change the length of the transition, drag the right edge of the transition to make it shorter.

This will create a transition, indicated by a purple symbol in between both clips on the timeline.

Transitions To add a transition between two media clips, drag the second clip on the timeline slightly over the first clip and then drop it. Note: I've read the manual and I haven't found a method to add transitions without having to use the mouse, I mean, all methods requiere the mouse to select the edit point. On this way we can add transitions very quickly with keyboard only (no mouse to select the edit, please, editors don't like the mouse), just using 'playback->next/previous->clip/edit' the playhead will go to the transitio point, then keyboard shortcut to add the transition will work when nothing is selected. If the playhead is not on a edit point, then nothing will happen. Position the playheadon the Timeline at the point you want the clip to appear. This removes the clip from the Timeline and moves clips that came after it to fill the gap. Change the Order of Clips on the Timeline On the Timeline, click on a clip to highlight it, right-click it and select Cut. So the idea is that when there is nothing selected on the timeline, and playhead is over an edit point, then 'Timeline->Add transition' will add a transition on the edit point that matchs with the playhead, even when the edit point is not selected. Timeline toolbar to add the clip to the Timeline. Please make 'Timeline->Add transition' work when the playhead is on an edit point, without the need to have to mouse-click to select each edit point.
